look who went skinny dipping last night...

i got a call to come back to the hotel at 11 pm, because this *little* guy was having a swim!!

he'd been hanging out in the retention pond for a few weeks. the state wildlife department had advised us that we needed to contract someone to remove him from the property. (in north carolina, it is against the law to disturb an alligator in his natural environment, or something like that.) at any rate, the alligator hunter had just gotten back to me with a quote of $300.00

funny thing is, once the alligator made it into the pool, he became a "nuisance," and the state had someone out within 40 minutes (at 11 p.m.), and he was removed for free!!

Erk! The things you must have on your CV, Lelly! 'Alligator Removal Management'. I'm glad he combined enjoying his dip with saving your hotel some money!

You are definitely having an exciting summer. What fun. You are the only person I know who has had an allegator in their swimming pool.

Crazy! And a little on the creepy side, in fact.

You're back! How did I manage to miss your return in your last post? So good to hear from you.

I think I would freak right out if I saw an alligator near a hotel I was staying in. No venturing outside for me. Hello Room Service!

Oh my! Cool photo -- is that actually the moon's reflection? Glad the "nuisance" was taken care of. (If I were in the pool, I'd see him as more than a nuisance!)

You sound like you are chuckling as if it is such a minor thing. Holy Cow! An Aligator!

It is kind of funny, the $300 and all. Glad he's taken care of.

So it sounds like you know how to work the system! I would seriously freak out if there were an alligator in my hotel pool.

I'm a "non-look-in the-pool-before-I-jump" jumper, so thank goodness I don't live anywhere NEAR alligators! Yikes!

Ohh wow! I am sure that caused a little excitement!

Now that is fun summer news. An alligator, hope that is not a common event. Glad it did not cost you money.

Now that would be quite a surprise for anyone wanting to go for a midnight swim. I think I would have been too freaked to even think of a picture!

Oh. My. Goodness.
I love alligator (to eat), but would not love one in my pool (if I had one).
And I thought squirrels in the attic were a pain!!

That just freaks me out. I don't think I can easily go swimming out there on the east coast.
