spt

*seussical* opens friday night, which makes this week one of the hardest weeks of the year: late nights, forgotten lines, costume fixes, mismatched harmonies... did i mention the late nights??

but that also makes this week one of the greatest weeks of the year for me: bonding with the cast backstage, perfecting dance moves, nailing the Bflat, feeling the warm glow of the spotlight.

getting a little giddy reading the preview in the on-line edition of our local paper

fortius. i draw strength from being on the stage. i am an entertainer, a star-in-my-own-world. i feel a tremendous responsibility to lead each cast with my strength, whether i am in the spotlight or in the chorus line. i relish in the "roar of the crowds." my life is currently consumed by the wubbulous world of dr. seuss, and i wouldn't have it any other way!!

i didn't know you were in it either! i thought you were the director! that's so awesome. i think we all have an inner desire to be on stage, if only for one performance. some of us are just too shy to let that part of us through though.

ps...give us the link to your reviews!

I wish we could all be there to see you perform. How exciting for you! I don't have this in me. Instead of gaining strength, I would probably hide in a corner.

i looked for the review online yesterday. so hoped to get a youtube of your morning tv appearance.

ps- my eleanor thinks it is way beyond cool that YOU are the Cat.

You're a star!

This challenge is turning out more challenging than I had anticipated. I cannot figure out how: citius, altius, or fortius applies to me at all right now. (In other words, thanks for giving me the opportunity to stretch on this one...it'll come, but probably not on Tuesday.)

That is fantastic! I would have so much stage fright. I don't like being in front of people & would laugh or cry.
Hope it all goes great & you have a fun week.

Lelly,

Happy opening night and break a leg! I totally wish I could justify a sudden trip to the east coast to see you on stage. Too bad I can't. Ah the late nights. I remember those. And the costume problems, and the dropped lines, and and and. But it is such a thrill to be involved in *live* theatre! Hearing you talk about it makes me miss it. Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

Oh man! Are you bringing back memories of Joseph, Good ole Days, and Grease! You have gotten BIG TIME since then! Congrats honey! I wish I were backstage to give you our traditional carnations LOL!!

I love musicals! I think it's great you have this tradition. I can't wait to hear how it goes!

I'm late this week and very abstract..I had a hard time as well. But I always appreciate the introspective that SPT brings.

Ok, I have 3 minutes to get this posted under the deadline! I found a pic of me in motorcycle school. 2 years ago! I'm in!

Darn, I'm sorry I missed it by a day, but I still participated! I could put that in for faster and stronger and be caught up.

Good luck with the musical, or should I say "break a leg".
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to see you in Seussical!

I bet the musical will be fabulous! Wish I could see it. I was in the orchestra in high school and we'd do a big musical each year. I loved playing the score, but secretly wished I had the guts (and the talent) to be onstage! Break a leg!

I absolutely love that you are involved in community theater. I haven't done anything since high school! How cool is that picture with you in the newspaper in the background?
