spt - color me beautiful

waaay back in high school, my mom got a copy of this book, and from then on, i have been drawn to darker, bolder, brighter, (louder) colors. taking my instructions from the book very seriously, i developed a lifelong aversion to all things pastel. and yellow.

i am a winter, like these beauties. as a winter, my thirty special colors include Bright White, True Red, Royal Blue, Emerald Green, Purple, Navy, Black and White. it's true, i get the most compliments when i wear these colors. i also feel the most confident when i wear these colors. and as i look around my life, it is easy to see that i haven't strayed far from my winter color palette.

the objet d'art we bought together for our recent copper anniversary

candle holders on the windowsill beside my piano

i'm keeping it real, folks

it would seem that i favor greens and blues. i'm a little more cerulean than pacific blue, a little more electric lime than fern. i am still drawn to darker, bolder, brighter (and louder) colors. if pressed to pick a favorite, then here is the tie breaker:

silk flowers from our wedding
mango tango, fuschia, and inch worm.

I love bright colours, but I am too timid to decorate with them. I tend to use green and blue to decorate. I'll waer almost any colour, so that is where I get my colour fix.

I love that color inch worm. So much better than green!

Color Me Beautiful, I lived by it as a teen too. I have rebelled in my old age though and added some winter colors to my spring.

My mom did that color class in the 80s and labeled me a Summer back then so I'm all about bright colors, avoid pastels and won't just buy any old color in the stores. I recently had another consultant confirm my status as a Summer so I guess I really am.

I love the picture of the razor!

awesome look in the world of lelly. love it.

the silk flowers made me gasp-- i have a little bit different version on my desk but happy and sunny all year round, like yours. normally i do not like silk flowers but can't resist the silk gerbers. just too cute!

My mom had my colors done when I was a teenager, too. I was told I'm a winter, but I don't use it at all now. Not sure how that's working out for me, actually. . .

That book is a flash from the past! We had that same edition. I think I was a summer, but I wanted to be a spring because I preferred those colors, so I struggled with hard feelings for Carole.

I had that book long ago. I too am a winter, not much pastel around me! I did not post this week due to insane schedules, but red and green are my weapons of choice. Love the vase!
