spt - i will remember you

i'm sure many of you have noticed my lack of blogging lately. this happened last year, too - work and life found a way to keep me from doing one of the things i really, truly love to do! blogging, the writing AND the reading, have become such a huge part of my life, i honestly don't know what i would do without my connection to all of you.

of course, spt is a huge part of amuse-bouche, and something that has helped me create some amazing friendships. even on days when i don't feel like i have a good challenge, or (worse) a good spt post to go with my own challenge, i learn and grow from all of you!

but for right now, i need to put blogging, and spt, on the back burner for a little bit. not forever! never forever! but for now, i would rather take a step back with determination than to let amuse-bouche suffer a long and painful slide into a shadow of it's former self. i know you have all been there yourselves, and i am excited that you will be there when i come back!!

so, for next week, a simple challenge. take a few moments to take a great self-portrait. fix your hair, freshen your lipstick, wear your favorite shirt. get outside, or stay inside, but take the time to find a shot that you love. i want to see beautiful photos of my beautiful friends, something to remember you all by as i wade through the next few months.

i can't wait to *see* you all next week!

So, does this mean you're breaking up with us? LOL! I'm only teasing! I can relate to having a little too much to chew. I look forward to next week!! Have a great weekend, Lelly! :)

I can totally relate to the way life goes...busy! We just have to stop and focus on certain things sometimes while other things just have to wait!

I think it is more of a shame when people keep pushing forward and don't know when to make certain aspects of thier life wait!

I will keep checking in now and again until you are back!

Say it isn't so!

I've loved your SPT challenges. Hopefully life will calm down for you soon and you'll be able to get back to doing some things YOU enjoy - instead of only the things everyone else needs you to do!

Don't forget, you can't give from an empty well (something my mom says) - meaning make sure to take some time for yourself otherwise you'll be too empty/exhausted to give anymore to the people who need you.

I think we all get it. Don't let something that is supposed to be fun, relaxing and relieving like blogging turn into a chore.

Now I need to get gussied up for tuesday!

You will be missed! Life tends to get in the way sometimes. :-) Always better to chose what you want done than to let it take over. Looking forward to your return.

Dear me, Lellski, I will miss missing my SPTs! *blush*

No, you're quite right to just announce a hiatus in your blogging if you're up to your neck in things. As my old mother would say, 'If you're not careful, you'll meet yourself coming the other way'.

I'm so sorry- life has gotten so busy.. I just can't imagine all the shoes you have to fill. Good luck & take time to find your place of peace.. This has been so amazing the last 2 weeks being involved with SPT. I can't wait for you to sItart back up sometime.
You will truly be missed...

You are wise to know when to say when and to step back since you're so busy. I hope you're handling things well and are taking care of yourself (and everyone else right?).

This SPT should be a great one for everyone!

Since I haven't done mine for the past two weeks (gasp!) I will for sure be doing this one. Hope work is treating you well. I totally understand how life gets crazy. In the mean time we will miss you!!

so thankful for your SPT's and will keep checking back...I may check some of your old spt's from before I started "spt'ing" and do those- I agree with everyone in wishing you a lovely break, and way to go on taking care of 1st things 1st!

Self Portrait Tuesday has been a huge influence on my whole blog experience. It has helped me focus on myself instead of the kids as subjects of the blog, and I have more wonderful pictures of myself from the past year than from the past 10 years!

Thnaks so much, it's been so fun. It sounds like you need a vacation, from anything, right about now, even if it is a vacation from blogging. Good for you! We'll miss you.

I feel a little sad and a little happy for you all at the same time! I hope you enjoy your time off and will return soon!

Have fun and enjoy the important things!

Lelly, it makes me a little sad to think of the blogging community without you. But, I'm comforted by the "never forever" of it, and might take it upon myself to remind you of that. :)

I hope the break is just what you need, and that you will make it through your busy time with less stress. You will be missed, though!

I understand, but say it isn't so!

I think this must just be a busy time of year...I'm reading this frequently on lots of blogs; many others are taking blogging breaks so that family doesn't suffer! Hope you're doing ok.

Good for you Lelly! You have done an amazing thing here for so many of us- I mean before this I was almost visually absent from my blog. SPT has been a total paradigm shift for me. Thank you- we will miss you but can't wait for your return.

I completely understand. I haven't posted in well over a month. I just find it can be too much to keep up with in addition to a full-time job, running a business and keeping up with things at home.

I will miss reading your posts, but look forward to when things in your life slow down to allow you more time to do the things you really love.

AHHH, the craziness of life always tends to creep into and interfer with the things we LOVE!

Take a deep breath and hang in there...will miss you and be eagerly anticipating your return to the blog world with a great challenge!

I am glad I am reading this after I already know it is a joke. I am just back to some kind of normal life and wanted to get back into the SPT thing, I would have been very disappointed! This SPT is late but I actually sort of participated because I had to post pictures of myself at 30 weeks pregnant, so I am back on schedule with SPT! YEAH ME!
