spt

yesterday, when jack told me his teacher had encouraged him to bring some tadpoles into school, i was less than enthusiastic about it: there were so many things to do yesterday afternoon/evening already, i just didn't feel like making time for tadpole catching, too. in my infinite wisdom, i suggested it would be easier to stop by the lake on the way to school this morning to catch the little critters.
"what was i thinking?!?"
so, what were you thinking this week?

I don't even have time to get out of my workout gear before I take the kids to school, let alone stop to try and catch tadpoles! You go Mommy!

Cute picture! It does look kind of chilly and early for tadpole hunting, but you do what you've got to do, right?

All I can think about is alligators live by your waterholes! You look cute in red.

I really liked this one! It was actually fun to review my insanity!

Don't you worry that an Alligator will jump out at you? Oh my- after last weeks SPT I don't think I'd be anywhere near water... But I guess the kids at school would be pretty excited to have a baby alligator instead of tadpols huh!!!
What a great mom you are!

I'm so behind on blogging but I could not resist this SPT. Such a great picture of your little boy being a little boy. Darling of you too. You're a great mom for sure!

Hey, Lelly--my first link (#8) isn't working...I must have typed something wrong so if you could delete it that would be awesome. thanks!

Alligators last week and tadpoles this week. You are braver than me. What a cute picture of you.

Cute picture. You are far more organized than I to even think to accomplish anything before school. Did you get them? If nothing else, it is a very cute pic. :-)

This was fun to do. I had a totally different SPT planned and then my dog provided me with another experience that shows I'm not always thinking!

so funny- I am thinking that it was probably pretty cold and muddy and smelly!

That is so funny~ I actually saw a sign today at a Pre-K that read, "bring insects on Friday". I was feeling sorry for those parents that had to get up early and dig around for bugs before school!

An early morning tadpole hunt? That sounds exciting, and also like something I will probably need to do.

Jane's comment made me fear for your safety.

My kids would have fallen in! Then I would have had to have gotten the tadpoles and do the stinky, wet laundry too!

AHHH - i can barely get the kids out the door on time for school - let alone early to catch tadpoles - you are one super mom for sure! Cute photo with Jack in the background - I love it!

So did you leave it to this morning so you would have the perfect spt?:)

You're brave to stop by the lake for tadpoles when you live in gator country!

so fun though! to watch the life cycle of frogs! WOW but before school is darn risky! i can imagine one wrong step and you ahve to turn around and change from wet kid.

Stopping for tadpoles on the way to school...what time did you get up this morning!?!

I fell in love with my friend Brenda's blog and followed her here. Cute idea and cute picture. I hope I can get used to the portrait part of SPT. I hate posting pictures of myself. Thanks for sharing your talents. This was a lot of fun.

Jack looks like he's having a good time though! That's really what matters right! :)

Oh, my. That's some brave before-school adventure! It is a very cute picture, though. Did you guys catch any?

I always do that. Tell myself that it will be better to do that at another time. Then "another time" gets here and it is a worse time than before.

Yeah, little critters should probably NOT be captured on the way to school, but at least they were fresh. You are a trooper!

Tadpole hunts would be nigh impossible in our neck of the woods. My kids have only seen them at Sea World...sad but true!

I think you're amazing to have enough time to squeeze that into your morning!

Love this post. You are a great mom for going out and helping your son out with this before school. I rarely get my son to school before the bell rings. I have this thing with mornings--they don't like me.

You seem to always capture yourself in the moment so well. How cool to be able to stop off on the way to school there!

Lelly- I just want you to know how much I truly enjoy SPTing. I look forward to Friday to see what the new topic is & than Tuesdays to see everyones.. It really gives me joy & I love that I have met so many new friends.
I am not good at taking Self potraits yet, my camera is not an easy camera to figure out & plus I am not likeing close ups of me looking oh so fat faced!
But I truly wanted to Thank you for doing this little deal & am so glad that I found you through Courtney..
You are so wonderful & have brought me happiness in just the last month or so of doing this...

I suppose that tadpoles and horny toads and many other slimy variations are part & parcel of raising boys. I'm not a giant fan of that realization. You are definitely a trooper to make that stop!
