spt - my holiday is filled with love

getting my Christmas Card list together...

the holiday season, in my minds eye, has a soft glow around the edges. when i think about all there is to be accomplished in these few short weeks, i filter it with tree lights and fuzzy edges (sounds dreamy, doesn't it?)

this week, i am so happy to take moment to think about all of the people i love. i've been rereading cards from Christmas' past (it's sometimes hard to remember back to the days when cards were addressed to just me. or to just matty and i.) i've been thinking about the people i will be sending cards to this week. their families. their lives. i've been thinking about how our lives have become entertwined, even when our paths intersect only once or twice a year.

sharing cards, photographs, and journeys helps knit together the circle of those i love. i can think of no better way to embark on this wonderful season!

(o.k., kids, this is the second week in a row i'm having trouble with my good friend, Mr. Linky. hang in there!!)

i agree! the holidays always have a warm glow through my mind's eye. twinkle lights and pine bows, starry nights, a chill in the air...it's so magical. i love winter for the gauzy glow of the holidays, and summer for the clarity and brightness it brings. but you just can't beat the holiday season!

Amen. I *love* the fuzzy soft edges, the "soft focus" of the Christmas season, too. Nicely said, Lelly. And I *love* Christmas cards, for all the same good reasons you listed. Nice post!

Well Said! There are so many added "things" that create a joyful feeling throughout the holidays. It is wonderful to hear that you are taking time to appreciate even the small things...with a soft fuzzy focus.

I love sending cards. I wish I was more dilligent in keeping in touch more, but I really look forward to seeing those pictures or letters and how everyone is.

Mmm, I almost did this same one. I love the soft focus. It's the way it should be, I think.

I love sending and receiving Christmas cards. How wonderful that you have kept them from years past.

I'm impressed that you have your Christmas card stuff ready to go this week, we usually get that going around the 20th!

I actually did one this week! Woohoo! www.butterflydaydreams.blogspot.com

and you've inspired me to get moving on my christmas card list... I have the cards, just not the list of who gets one!

Now this is plain dreamy, Lelly. What a good "love" SPT.

I 'love' sending and receiving cards as well. I usually try to write a special message to everyone we send them to...which is a great reminder why we love them.

Good for you for being so on top of it! Beautiful shot too.

I was so excited that I had all my Christmas shopping done by Dec 1st. Then I read your post about Christmas cards. DOH! (you have to say it just like Homer Simpson.) I didn't even think about it this year. Oops! I still have time..thanks for the reminder.

I love Christmas cards, but most of my family and friends opt out. I think it should be mandatory for anyone under the age of 101!

What a wonderful attitude as you approach the Christmas card project. Way to savor the moment rather than get bogged down in a to-do list.

You do have a great attitude towards the holiday. I feel a bit like it snuck up on me and said BOO really loud, and I am still flinching... LOL Great shot BTW

I loved this. Especially the first paragraph because it's precisely how I feel...fuzzy-edged.

I love to fuzzy edges of this month. It has been years since I did a Christmas card! How cool that you can look back and reflect on the ones that were just you and then you two and then you three :)

Ah, that's a calming image of the usually tense (for me) collating of the Christmas card list. I always seem to go into a slight panic about checking for changes of address or searching Royal Mail online for the Postcode Finder.

So, thanks for your fuzzy vignette of your list-making. I'm sure there's a comforting mug of hot cocoa just out of shot, yep?

one of my favorite things about the holiday hoopla are christmas cards....sending and receiving. And, last year I got all the cards we had received over the past 5 years in an album and I LOVE flipping through it.

And thanks for all the supportive comments this week, it always puts a smile on my face.
