something old
kranich & bach manutfactured pianos from the late 1800s until 1981.
although the detail on this model makes it decidedly less Victorian, and more art deco (which makes it decidedly more lelly, if you're interested).
the serial model on my piano places it's birthdate solidly in the mid-1920s.
it is old. it is showing it's age. someday, this old girl will have the makeover of a lifetime. the original (albeit lackluster, and sometimes painful) ivories will be replaced. i'll have her tuned (again. and again.) and i will make her sing. more often than i do now.

I am excited to see what everyone does with this!
I think you are just genius!
I love this month of challenges!
Done... and this one was hard! Apparently I have a lot less old stuff than I first thought. so what're you going to post on?
Having a piano is my dream. And an old one? Even better. What a nice "old" item to have in your home.
oh- I love the style of that piano-
I love everything style wise from that time period!
Beautiful piano!
Loved this post, Lelly! What a wonderful thing to own...I wish I could hear you make it sing :)
How neat to have a piano like that & know how to play it.. That's a talent I have always wished I had..
Beautiful!
Lelly, This is great! I took 2 yrs of piano lessons and it got me NOWHERE!
We have an ancient piano too, and it is losing its ivory off the keys as well.
What a cool thing to have.
Fun challenge. Thanks!
What a cool piano--and with character! I wish I had one and I wish I could play one!
Very cool. My parents also have a very old piano--an heirloom. I have no idea how old it is.
now that is cool! how wonderful to have such a treasure.
I learned to play on a piano like that!
How beautiful!!
nice piano Lelly. I didn't know that you played. It's such a rewarding thing to play the piano, I think. It looks beautiful and I hope you can restore it to it's original beauty someday.
What a beautiful old piano...I love it! Make her sing, Lelly!
That is beautiful!
I never learned to play the piano, I wish I had. I love the Lelly-ness of your piano--definitely has character and history.
That is a beautiful piano! I love old pianos.
I love your Art Deco piano! Mine is decidedly Victorian. Even with a much-needed face-lift I still wouldn't "love" mine. I'm holding out for something bigger and better one day . . . Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, beautiful. Old things carry a spirit about them, and with it's chipped keys and everything (esp the art deco touch) your piano is gorgeous.
That's a really cool piano! I think it's one of Amber's dreams to get her hands on one of those really old classics and have it all nice and fancy... There's something that's just so comfortable about the looks of the older pianos as opposed to one of those glossy Grand pianos, don't you think? Less stuck up or something.
You reminded me that I do have something old - a very old piano! Very cool.
Nice! My piano is really old, too. I love the details on yours.
I love this months challenge even though I'm late. Check out the awesome picture Hannah took of me.
Very cool. I wish I had something like that.
Sooooo cool! I'm a sucker for antiques and as a pianist, this is no exception. I'm actually drooling! Ha!
This looks great. I am not so nice to my old, old piano. It doesn't help that we are military and keep moving the old thing!
