a day in the life - tropical storm hanna edition - the end

6:07 pm
home. showered and fed and rested, with a few hours of watching college football from the sofa under my belt.

ran into the "hurricane researchers" in the elevator. they are a nice group of young men, affiliated with a university, i believe. one of them made a comment about how they only ever get to spend about two hours in any of their hotel rooms (because they basically *chase* storms this time of year.) they travel light! one duffel a piece, and nary a beer can left in their wake!!

will have the landscapers address the wasted wax myrtles next week (total of four down, not two as originally though.) i HATE the loss of mature trees in any storm. it changes everything!

it looks like the east coast will be spared Ike, and i'm hopeful that we ALL are spared Ike. if you ever have to evacuate to a hotel, don't forget to pack your stuffed animals, bring plenty of snacks, and take a moment to salute the staff! you might even ask them if they have any queso dip to share...

do you roger that?!?

I am so glad your storm was as uneventful as it was. Although even with your minimal damage, your posts were plenty eventful. I will always be sure to smile extra big at my hotel staff from now on.

Glad you are dry, it will be interesting to see what Ike is up to in a few days.

I'm glad it's over & no Ike-- hopefully no one will have Ike... mature trees, so sad when they are gone. Hope all is well at your home :)

I thoroughly enjoyed your play-by-play, Lelly. And "nary a beer can left in their wake!!" make me laugh out loud. Losing mature trees is definitely a sad thing. So glad you're home and there was minimal damage!

This was a delight to read over the weekend. Glad nothing major was lost, but the mature trees do make me sad! Hope today is restful for you.

wow, I was thinking about you over there on the coast. Glad it's past and I love your documentation!

Funny what you mentioned about people not understanding about the pool. I'm dealing with people who don't understand why their flights were cancelled or delayed. Go figure.

Glad you could get back home and all is well. Loved the day in the life series. We had LOTS of rain here. Some wind, not as bad as I had expected.

ok, I did not ever think to do a 10 part Gustav - day-in-the-life-post when we evacuated!! At least I had Tasha post for me though.
