dear candidates,

i know you've been on the road for a long time now. i tuned in to your campaigning and debating at the end of december. i've followed you from state to state to state. i (along with several thousand north carolinians) have waited patiently for our primary.

i know you're tired. i know you hoped this late primary would have been a foregone conclusion. but, guess what?!? it isn't!! it turns out these may primaries are actually going to count for something.

i think i could have gone either way here. policy for policy, *shell game* for *shell game,* i was happy to have two candidates to consider this morning. however, the deal was sealed for me at approximately 1 pm last saturday, when you called me. i know, i know it was a recording. but i liked the message. and i liked feeling connected. (i got nuthin' from your opponent.)

so, when it's all said and done, and the votes are counted, i hope you know that your phone call swayed me. you were able to connect with this voter on a very personal level. so, thank you.

(it was pretty cool when your husband called, too...)

Don't you find it fascinating how the momentum has swayed back and forth these past months? I'm glad you are going out and exercising your right...no matter who you vote for.

i am SO thrilled for you that you were able to cast your vote. i know you were worried that you may not be given the opportunity.

(clever writing, BTW!)

Go look at my blog. Are you sure it was HER husband calling? ;)

It is pretty cool your vote is meaning something. Really how it should be, everyone's voice heard.

Hmmm...interesting! I feel the need to know more about this.

I've just had 2 good friends stand for the Green Party over here, in local elections. I didn't realise until they'd announced they were standing that I actually had very clear opinions and ideas on the whole thing - I do wonder if I will find myself standing next year. Ooooeeerrrrdear, what am I saying???

I'm glad you got your chance to make your vote count. It pains me to the core when people can't or won't use their vote.
