self-portrait tuesday

i actually took more photos of my feet than i did of my portrait last week!! i will spare you and only share one of the pictures!

here's what i think of when i look at this picture:

i am wearing pants that are not black! several years ago, some of my friends kindly pointed out to me that my wardrobe had gotten entirely too dark. i have made efforts to add color back in!

i have not done my nails since we went to disney at the first of the year! i am terrible about keeping my nails done, especially in winter.

i have worn these rings for over 12 years. i bought the first one (on my left foot)at a festival in atlanta. my father bought the others for me in india and africa. i have a funny memory of my dad trying my one ring on his finger so that he would know what size to buy.

i often have a pain in my big toe joint, and i have self-diagnosed myself with gout, despite the fact that i believe gout is a disease mainly experienced by old men of probably middle eastern descent (a demographic which i clearly do not fit).

my feet have carried me approximately 55 miles in excercise since january first.
* edited to say, 110 miles!! i mean 110 miles!!

let me know if you have posted a photo on your blog, and i will get you listed for today's portrait!
i have created an item on my sidebar for all of the self-portrait artistes. if you don't see yourself there, let me know so that i can add you!

I posted about my feet. Thanks for the challenge of self-portrait Tuesdays. I had planned on posting a picture of my face today since I didn't learn about this until after Tuesday was long gone last week. Maybe next week I'll do my face.

I'm dying about your self-diagnosed gout. I so do things like that...usually botchulism though. I'll be posting my picture later today...need to give my grandpa a chance to see the front & center post about him!

Gout huh? That's pretty funny. It's rather sweet that your dad bought toe rings for you while on trips, who knew?

I posted my feet too.

Love the idea of posting about ourself. So often I end up posting about my children and this is supposed to be for ME. I will post about my feet this afternoon. Thanks for the original ideas.

Lelly, I'm confused. I know, it's kinda embarrassing. But how did everyone know that your them is "Put Your Best Foot Forward"?? (Other than the obvious foot picture on your blog?)

I love that you didn't freshen your polish. Very cute toe rings. I like them in theory, but can never get used to the feel of them when I walk around. Love that your dad brought you some from his travels! 110 miles is impressive!!! I posted my feet as well.

Great challenge! I love you know how many miles your feet have taken you. I have been so faithful to the gym this year yet I have tracked nothing! I would love to know how far my feet have exercised me!

I posted my feet, I mean foot. Thanks for thinking ahead!

Lelly, I can't BELIEVE I am clicking through images of people's feet! *slaps own head*

I'm supposed to be surfing the net for birthday decorations for Isla's first birthday - but I'm looking at hundreds of toes!

You distractor, you! ;-P

Very cool. I was going to post something else, but now that I know there is a theme I will have to rethink. Check back later I should have something. I love this.

I love the challenges. Unfortunately it would take me a day or two to post my pic (the whole ten year old computer thing) but I really enjoy looking at everyone elses!!

I am fascinated (it doesn't take much, does it??) by how many people took pictures of just one foot or both feet!

Ok I just saw a theme going with Jenny and Kristens post and it all led back to you. This is fun. I am posting my picture right after I finish this so look for it. I have never visited your blog but have now discovered it. So fun!!

I can't believe how much I learned about you on your post today - all from using your feet as a jumping point! Great post - I'm glad I didn't read it before I did my own or I would have writer's block trying to do mine like yours.

I posted!! This is so much fun!! Congrats on the 110 miles, VERY impressive!

I ran into your blog from my sis-in-law, Susan (Plyes of Clutter). I am not sure I will always have time to join in self-portrait Tuesdays, but today I didn't work and my kids are asleep and hubby is gone, so I guess I am putting feet on my blog! What a fun theme!
